Kids Kids Programs

Kids Programs

We offer a variety of programs for children from birth to age 12. Storytimes for preschool aged children include age-appropriate stories, rhymes, songs and activities designed by library professionals to help develop literacy skills and a love of reading. We also provide book-based craft and activity programs for school aged children throughout the year and summer reading clubs for all ages.

Spring Storytime Registration
Every program includes age appropriate stories, rhymes, songs and activities designed by library professionals to help children develop literacy skills and a love of reading.

Registration begins at 10:00 am, Tuesday, March 19, 2013. Space is limited. Please register in advance.

Babytime (ages birth to 17 months)
Wednesdays  11:15 - 11:45 am
Fridays     11:00 - 11:30 am
April 3 - May 17 
Stories, rhymes and songs for babies and their caregivers.  

Toddler Tales (ages 18 to 35 months)
Thursdays  11:15 - 11:45 am
Fridays     10:15 - 10:45 am
April 4 - May 17
Stories, rhymes and a craft for toddlers accompanied by their caregivers. 

Tales & Tunes (ages 3 to 5 years)
Wednesdays     10:15 - 11:00 am
Thursdays     10:15 - 11:00 am
April 3 - May 16
A musical storytime featuring songs, musical activities and a craft. Please note: those in JK/SK are welcome to alternate days if necessary.

Little Crafters (for ages 3-5 years)
Tuesdays    10:30 am - 11:30 am
July 2 - August 27

A fun-filled hour brimming with awesome crafts, stories and activities for preschoolers with a different theme each week. A fee of $2 per program is required at registration.

Craft Club (for ages 6-12 years)
Mondays, Wednesdays     2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
July 3 - August 28

Join the club and try out some fun and kooky crafts with a different theme each day. A fee of $3 per program is required at registration.

Cook 'n Craft (for ages 6-12 years)
Thursdays     2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
July 4 - August 29

This fun program combines crafting and cooking with a different theme each week. A fee of $4 per program is required at registration.

Summer Creations (for ages 10 and up)
Tuesdays    2:00 pm - 3:30 pm 
July 2 - August 27

Fabulous and far out crafts and activities with a different theme each week. A $4 fee is required at registration.

Friday Flicks (for ages 5-12 years)
Fridays    10:30 am - 12:00 noon
July 5 - August 30

A different movie each Friday!  No registration required. Free!

Fab Fridays!  (for ages 6-12 years)

A variety of fabulously fun activities and crafts including Lego, scrapbooking and more! A $3 fee is required at registration.

Mad Science: Dinosaurs! (for ages 6-12 years)
Monday, July 8    10:30 am- 11:30 am 
Take a trip back to prehistoric times and learn about our world before we got here! A $6 fee is required at registration.

Captain Corbin's Crazy Caribbean Magic Show (for ages 6-12 years)
Monday, July 8    10:30 am - 11:15 am
Lots of magic and crazy pirate surprises! Tickets are $6 available June 8.

Mad Science: Structures (for ages 6-12 years)
Monday, July 22    10:30 am- 11:30 am 
Eiffel Tower, Great Wall of China and pyramids, oh my! Discover the science behind some of the world's most famous structures. A $6 fee is required at registration.

Bob the Fossil Guy (for ages 6 and up)
Monday, July 29    10:30 am - 11:30 am
Bob O'Donnell is back by popular demand with his amazing collection of fossils. Tickets are $6 available June 8.

Mad Science: Moving Motion (for ages 6-12 years)
Monday, August 12    10:30 am - 11:30 am
Trains, planes and automobiles! Explore the science behind getting around. A $6 fee is required at registration.

Mission Meteorite! (for ages 6-12 years)
Monday, August 19    10:00 am - 12:00 noon
3-2-1 Blast Off! Learn about the solar system and meteorites in a hands-on way with help from our friends from the Centre for Planetary Science and Exploration at the University of Western Ontario. Kids will get a chance to examine real meteorite samples and discover what space rocks are made from as the dissect their own delicious meteorite! A $2 fee is required at registration.

Mad Science: Get Connected! (for ages 6-12 years)
Monday, August 26    10:30 am - 11:30 am
Stay in touch with family while you zip around the planet exploring new places! A $6 fee is required at registration.
