Woodstock Reads 2013 - Our Readers Choose
Are you an opinionated reader? The Library is now accepting nominations for its 2013 Woodstock Reads selection committee. You can be a part of the group that selects the book that all Woodstock should read in 2013.
Nominations will be accepted until June 30, 2012. You just need to commit to reading 5 nominated titles--without revealing them to anyone--between July and September, and to attend one selection meeting in the fall. You must also promise to keep the final title secret until its unveiling when we celebrate Andrew Carnegie's birthday on Monday, November 26th! Call the reference desk for information, or watch this webpage for details.
Woodstock Reads 2012 Adult Title
Join in on the laughter - engage in the conversation. This year's Woodstock Reads title is Terry Fallis', The High Road. The High Road is the follow up to Fallis' first novel, Best Laid Plans. Both novels tell the story of honest Angus McClintock, an amateur politician who dares to do the unthinkable: tell the truth. This novel is a wildly entertaining read full of deft political satire and laugh-out-loud comedy.

Woodstock Reads 2012 Teen Title
It seems only fitting that the Woodstock Reads Teen Title be chosen by teens. The winning title is Divergent by Veronica Roth. Set in a future Chicago, Divergent features sixteen-year-old Beatrice Prior, who must choose among five predetermined factions to define her identity for the rest of her life, a decision made more difficult when she discovers that she is an anomoly who does not fit into any one group, and that the society she lives in is not perfect after all.
Readers are responding overwhelmingly towards this title. Check out what they are saying.
